I think you got bad advice above. A single 1070 takes my i7-4770 up to 85% utilization. Good chance waste of money with two 1070s especially if youre not overclocking.

It will be okay. My 4770 almost bottlenecks my 1070. It goes up to mid 80s in percent utilization in all cores. Should be a good match.

Hi, I have an OC 1070 and I'm not bottlenecked. It's pretty close though- takes my CPU up to 90% utilization. I wouldn't go for a 1080 with a non K 4770.

I'm just letting you know what I observed. At max settings and max GPU utilization in most games, my CPU (which is much faster than an 8350) is almost bottlenecked. Take it for what you will.

Sounds like a pcie lane issue. I had same experienxe with an evga z87 classified. Sli only worked in slot 1 and 2, which means non reference coolers were a no go. I sold the mobo and got a gigabyte. Asus customer support is useless, so id recommend try finding more on your mobo specs and pcie...

I was wondering the same thing. I am hoping for $220 for a 970, if so I'll pick up a 2nd to SLI instead of dropping $679 on a 1080. My guess is that there won't be much of a price drop. My guess would be slightly less than $300, but more than $250.

Never heard coil whine from mine. I was SLIing them and neither had it. Using a tier 1 EVGA gold supernova 750 PSU.
