See, I play all games on my ultrawide monitor at ultra at 3440x1440, a couple of them stutter like crazy, because they have the graphics. Games like: Metro LL, The Witcher 3. I have the same CPU as you and cooler, OCed to 4.4GHz, plus the Asus Strix 980 ti. Think that might be the only difference.

Well, it's safe to say it's not the cooler. I believe you got a CPU with a bad sensor bug, as you clearly stated in the title, just keep monitoring the CPU as you play games or whatever, but I do not think it'll get and worse. CPU's reach higher temps then that.

When I play games with my 6600k, load times always stay in between 59 to 100% for me and I have the 212. Always around 100 though.

Put it on, the cooler that came with the CPU, if the temps change, better or worse, at least we'll know.

hmmm...can you try a different cooling solution?

What and how old is that audio card? As far as your GPU and 4k, you won't see much of a difference in 4k just sitting at your desktop. You will however will see a BIG difference in 4k with your GPU in games.

Your ACX has enough power at the moment by itself, I would diffidently upgrade to the K version of your CPU. Cause thats where, in a PC, most of the performance comes from. Your CPU.

Some multicore CPUs are like this, do you have it OCed?

I wouldn't return it, just get the proper cooler for the 7700 to keep any high temps in control.
