    it's always good to have a bit of head room on your psu. i always go for a psu that higher rated than what my pc needs. the psu will then be able to handle power spikes and future upgrades better. so a 550w or 600w psu would be my choice.

    the one with the better cooler as you can then use GPU Boost to get better performance :) As to which has the better cooler ? i would guess that would be the gigabyte card. But if noise levels are a problem then the MSI is a nice quite card :)

    i tried running my system (CPU and graphics card) under full load and only managed to draw 385 watts from the wall socket. and as for 450 Watts being enough to run a factory or bur down a house. maybe your father mistook watts for Amps ? oh and if it helps i believe 450w would be about 2 amps...

    its got the same spacing as all intel skt 1155/1150 HSF's. the the motherboard VRM Heatsinks are low profile. so pretty much all HSF's will clear them. but if you like i can try and get some measurements later tonight for you :)

    Nice build :) the default slot arrangement for the Gene VI is and 2nd & 4th slot. and there is plenty off room around the cpu for most hsf's you should be ok with either of the HSF's you have picked :)

    i7 4770 k or i5 4670k

    i7 is the better CPU but for gaming you will notice no difference between the i7 and i5. if your taking about best bag for your buck then the i5 is your best choice :)

    i have seen a lot of this over the last 2 weeks. 90% off the time you can fix it by doing a systems restore back 7 days or so in windows repair. you can access windows repair by pressing F8 as your pc boots or from the windows 7 install dvd
