On-line backup is impractical for the vast majority due to extremely slow upload speeds. According to the FCC, more than 70% of households are limited to upload speeds of less than 3 Mbps. That makes the external drive more important.

Another expensive half-solution from Sonos; looks like they haven't learned the Bose lesson. Look folks, spend $280 on a pair of ELAC B6s and $400 on a Yamaha A/V receiver -- the results will blow the Sonos (and Bose, for that matter) off the track. Yes, there will be cables and wires...oh, no!

Note that it took two swipes to do a 360...a great way to get killed early and often. Still, early days yet; it might get better with further optimization.
