Hey mate just bought the newer 1TB Canvio Basics to use to upgrade my PS3 and found that the internal hdd is a proprietor hdd and they've removed the SATA connections and hard soldered a USB3.0 port and controller to the HDD.
I assume that's why it cost more and the "newer" Canvio Simple is...
