A good sound USB sound card costs a lot and that adapter is cheap. I have my speakers connected in the rear ports and my front case ports are busted they don't work so I thought maybe that way I could plug both of them in.

Yea I know it would work with a sound card like that I just wanted to know if it would have worked with straight up that one cable. And about the mic, the adapter I posted has a 3 stripe jack, third stripe is for the mic as I know. Wouldn't that cover the mic problem?
