Yes, thank you very much for your insight. It seems the 9590 was also faulty and/ or damaged from the old PSU. 8350 did the trick excellently. Probably stick with it, until ready for a ryzen build.

Thanks, I will exchange the cpu for an 83xx I think. That was my last cpu and still functions perfectly to this day, but for a new owner. I will let you know if trying a new cpu fixes though. Thanks for all your time and input so far.

Turbo is off. Prime95 froze almost immediately. Couldn't ctrl alt del or anything. Let it sit for several minutes and couldn't move mouse or ctrl alt del or anything so reset.

Ran successfully 1st try. CPU was in top 68% single core (good), top 84% multicore GPU was 76.1% (very good) SSD was top 80% RAM was only top 45, but there is another 16 GB coming doubling that soon. Still operating well it seems with turbo off at 4.7Ghz

In the meantime I have brought the clock speed of my 9590 from 4.7Ghz (factory) to 4.2Ghz,and disabled the turbo, just to see how it goes. So far so good but it's only been a few minutes and I'm not about to try anything too demanding quite yet. Any chance factory clock might have just been too...

All settings are stock on this configuration and always have been. I mentioned voltage as some other forum regarding a similar issue was resolved because someone's CPU was underpowered, which I guess is common for 220w CPUs. Would it be wise to exchange for a similar one, or perhaps another...
