Absolutely not true at all. The 10600 is a 6c/12t cpu, easily overclocked to 5ghz. more than enough CPU power for any current gpu on the market. Its actually a very solid pairing.

I'd worry about the temps of the vrm because of how close the bottom cards backplate will sit to the heatsinks. I didn't know those were near 400w cards either. In that case I agree the h55 wont cut it as a cooler.

What's the height on the h55 block? Probably ok for the die itself, but vrm temp may suffer. That's of there's enough clearance.

The 7700k is the best cpu you could put into a board that supports the 7700. No newer cpu will work. Go the ryzen route.
