    Can I use a 6 or 8 GB ddr2 ram with core 2 duo e4700

My knowledge on graphics card is slim. Maybe start a new thread over on the graphics card section of the forum? http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/forum-33.html Because this thread is already solved and in the cpu section, graphics cards experts may not see your question.

It is if you buy from Crucial because they guarantee compatibility.

    Can I use a 6 or 8 GB ddr2 ram with core 2 duo e4700

I agree with mbarnes86, checking http://www.crucial.com is a good idea, just to make sure what the compatible ram upgrades are.

    Can I use a 6 or 8 GB ddr2 ram with core 2 duo e4700

A GhislainG stated, the real question here is how much RAM your motherboard can support. In your question you mention that your motherboard is compatible with 8gb of RAM, so that should not be a problem. Note that when buying the ram you should be careful to buy the right number of modules...

    Is it worth it?

The folks over on the adobe forums might be the best to answer such a nuanced question of whether to upgrade your processor in relation to your specific workflow. Adobe staff even chime in sometimes. https://forums.adobe.com/welcome

    Is it worth it?

Adobe Premiere can effectively make use of as many cores that you throw at it up to a point. Just read through this thread https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1901069?start=0&tstart=0 from the adobe forums and it seems clear that you would get a performance boost, with the additional 2 physical...

    Is my CPU dead?

Not reapplying the thermal paste was definitely a huge mistake. It's hard to say if the cpu is dead without moving it into another compatible machine, thus removing any confounding factors from your machine. Especially after opening up a computer for cleaning, a number of things could have gone...

    I3 6100 and Cooling

Unless you are overclocking, the stock heatsink for your i3-6100 cpu will cool it just fine. Here is a great Linus Tech Tips episode where Luke specifically addressed that for people not overclocking the stock intel cooler works well https://youtu.be/c66inwtS8_E. Aesthetically, stock coolers do...

Lenovo M57p 9071 Motherboard in a Mini Itx case?

Just bought a Silverstone SG13B Mini-itx case and I do not want to invest a chunk of money in a new Skylake motherboard/ram/cpu just yet, so I am migrating a motherboard from my old Lenovo M57p. The motherboard boasts a Q6700 2.66 GHz quad core cpu and 4gb of DDR2. I already have a CX500 psu and...

    Motherboard compatible CPU upgrade recommendations?

Looks like the heatsink fan that ships with the CPU will probably have thermal compound pre-applied in a three bar pattern, just make sure to check and make sure that three bar pattern is there when installing the heatsink. Intel has a great page explaining their thermal compound solutions here...

    Motherboard compatible CPU upgrade recommendations?

Installing a new CPU is not idiot proof, but you can do it. The key is to be methodical and not rush it, no reason to spend 200 pounds and waste it by not taking your time during the install. Before you start have a clear work area on a table for your computer chassis and make sure your hands...
