So I just got a new laptop and I have been installing a couple of files mainly games. Recently however, I have been unable to install quite a number of them because of this problem (see link for pic). I have windows 8.1. I have tried checking services.msc to see if windows installer is running...

You can get the gs 70 ghost. It's apparently the thinnest gaming laptop. The gt70 dominator sells for 1399$ at best buy.

I've actually seen more complaints with asus rogs than msi g series. Although it could probably be due to the fact that more people by asus? I was going to buy the asus g750jw but then i found the msi gt 70 dominator. Went with the msi as it has better hards. Did really like the look of the asus...

You can try the lenovo y510p. It has an "ultrabay" wherein you can replace the optical drive with anoter gpu

A good laptop that I can think of with decent cooling is the g750 series but it has a 17" screen. The new aorus x7 is a hundred dollars above 2k but it performs well and has good cooling too. Plus it is slimmer. However, it is still a 17 inch laptop.

I suggest you replace it. Recently I had to choose between replacing the mobo and hdd or just buying a new one. I chose to buy a new one because replacing those parts might fix the current problem but then eventually the rest of your parts will start failing.

3rd one will play skyrim, probably not at an extremely high quality but it will.

How about transferring the files (os, system files etc) to the ssd?

Oh wait! Im going to buy a samsung 250gb ssd along with the laptop at best buy. Do you know if they can switch the hdd for the ssd for free? Or if they have that service? Also, does g750jw have only one hard drive bay? Or can I place both hdd and sdd inside.
