So I finally got the psu cord on plugged and when I did the paper clip test to check and see if my psu is working it didn't turn on. I'm assuming a psu problem and I guess I should go ahead and order another psu. Is there anything else I could check to see if it malfunctioned while I'm at it...

Below are the pictures I tried to link in my original post. These photos show the release lever on the psu cord that goes into the motherboard. My lever has no room to be pushed back and therefore won't lift out.
