Was afraid it might be the board's slot, well at least i will be able to use the card if i get a newer socket board and cpu. Although i will try getting a psu with the recommended wattage and a pci-e 6pin connector.

I was also wondering if this could be a power issue, since i have a 350 watt antec psu, that has no pci-e connector(using a 2xmolex to pci-e 8pin) This is my first thread on this forum and i would really appreciate someones help.
