I've noticed that not all active cables have 5V inputs. I suppose getting a powered usb hub is adequate in that case ?

I have to extend usb 3.0 to my pc 5m away and was thinking of getting a powered hub and an active usb 3.0 extension cable. Will this combo work with a mouse, keyboard, headphones and gamepad ? Mentioned usb 3.0 because of occasional usb drive usage. Some choices so far...
