I seem to have fixed my problems. Display is now at my monitor's full, undistorted HD. I went to Settings/Devices/Device manager, and found NVIDIA Geforce GT 630 listed as a device under Display adapters. Under Properties, it was disabled, so I enabled it and rebooted. All's hunky-dorey for...
