Another development, yesterday and today my computer just shows this pattern on the screen and doesn't boot when I try to turn it on the first time. It comes up after hitting the reset button. :'(

The replacement arrived quickly and I've installed it in the system. Initial impressions are that this has probably corrected the issue. I'm going to give it a couple days to be sure before closing this thread out.

Hi Nemesia, thanks for the response. The GTX1080, PSU, and case are carried over from the previous build. Installed Windows 10 Pro 1903 via ISO + Rufus at the time, currently running release 2004. PSU is the HCG-620M semi-modular one. Looks like it's bronze-rated. That's the oldest part here...
