can giving 2400Mhz a try harm the CPU???

what if I buy this ram now and enable XMP in BIOS, will it be able to run at 1600 MHz, ?? May be I keep this RAM and later when I upgrade my CPU to some one which can run RAM at 2400Mhz, I use the same sticks.... Suggestions please

I understand that i can run it by enabling XMP profile in my mobo's Bios. But will my CPU limit it to 1600 only???
