Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

UPD: Strange, 4 days the cache hasn't gone up more than 3-4gb and I thought I'd be happy by now. But yesterday again for 2 hours of system work the cache amounted to 7gb, and today for 8 hours 3.6gb of cache

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

Yeah, I won't have any other choice. I'll be happy to know that this is normal system operation and not a possible "virus"

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

Thank you for your responses. Turned the computer on twice today, now for 2 hours of cache 2gb cache total. Looks like the cache numbers are really coming from some obscure place and the only way to make sure it's not a virus is to first try disabling SysMain and watch for a week, if the cache...

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

Yeah, I've thought about that. But unfortunately Linux doesn't have most of the programs I might need in the future.

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

Well, file 1.dat weighs 5gb and therefore 4gb was in the cache and after running this file in the cache became 9gb (well 5+4=9) for this reason and I thought that I could see through RamMap that ran on such a cache

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

No one told me on any forum that they had not observed this in their own country (maybe they just don’t look there :D) and, in particular, because of this, I got the idea that it could be a virus. Although, if you think logically, I tried 5 different AV and livecd from Kaspersky, which reduces...

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

Are you suggesting erasing OC completely to compare whether the cache will accumulate as it does now? I thought about it, but I would have to install all the drivers again, enter in accounts that can not be synchronized. I was also suggested to disable SysMain and see if it has any effect on it...

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

I'm not saying I'm getting "virus.exe" somewhere. How sure are you that it may not be a virus that unloads some files from my computer?(I can roughly see this possibility of a virus causing the cache to be like this)

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

Lmao, ofc no :D But if you open the screenshot from my first post in this thread you will see that the cache is 8gb, and in the lists of files the heaviest thing is 300mb. From not knowing what the system caches and the fear of viruses appeared :(

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

Well I run chrome and it shows up in a column in RamMap if that's what you mean.

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

View: https://youtu.be/KeXRSLBlPS8?si=4CgGuK49NGP9xB-o&t=536 But the video is in Russian, he ran the file 1.dat to load the memory. The link with time code, before that at 4:35 it will be seen that the cache is 4gb, after running the file for 5gb, the cache will add about the same amount. The...

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

As I wrote above, I literally have no heavy files I can run. P.S. I got confused in the previous post, the item in RamMap was called "File Summary" not "Mapped File"

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

I just saw a video of a person running a 1gb video from disk and then he had about 1gb of cache added. Later he showed with the help of RamMap that the same video was displayed in the "Mapped File" tab, that's why I wrote about previously launched applications

Question Lots of RAM caching, without the use of applications

I'd like to think I do. The system puts there applications that may be needed, opened in advance and so on.
