I see, I thought it was just a part of updating the BIOS. Would it be necessary to clear CMOS or is it fine to just update the BIOS? Wouldn't want to risk causing any damage if just the BIOS update is necessary.

Yeah I didn't actually update the BIOS, from what I understand clearing the CMOS involved actually physically taking the battery out. I'm pretty terrible with working with the physical insides of the PC, but will definitely figure out how to do it and get to it. Thank you for the suggestion!
