Thanks joshyboy82. I just found that some computer centers do in fact indicate a max resolution for some video cards on their specifications page. That should solve my problem as that information is available, at least for some cards prior to making the purchase. Thanks again for responding.

How can I be sure when buying a graphics card that it will support a monitor with optimal resolution of 1920 x 1080, since graphics cards do not have a resolution specification?

I may have put my response in the wrong box, but thanks for your reply. I checked to make sure I had the heat sink and fan locked down correctly, and it appears to be. I'm keeping an eye on the temp. I set the BIOS to shut down at 65 C and it hasn't gotten there yer. Thanks again.
