I killed the IRS service and ran a benchmark on both SSD drives. Both drives operate at the same speeds and there has been no issues since stopping the IRS service so I'm not going to worry about it anymore. CPU is freed up and everything is silky smooth. Thanks for help.

Ya, I decided to go with option #2 so we will see. This ram I have operates at 1.5v which is more compatible with the 2500k anyway. It works at rated 1866 speed with no tweaking required. and with the difference, I got myself a Hyper 212 EVO!

Another question. I have 2x4 ddr3 1866 gskill ram. If I were to send this new ram back, and pick up another 2x4 of the same model number ram I had already, should I expect them to be able to run all 4 in dual channel mode on my asrock z68 extreme4 mobo?

I can try this but isn't it odd that it would not run in 1600 or 1833 mode either? Before I can try OCing at all though, I need to repaste my cpu and get that layer of dust off cus it's running hot as it is so that will take a minute.

15-2500k is my cpu. Profile 1 didnt work either. Neither did 1600 or 1866...only likes 1333 for whatever reason. and I have the ram in the white slots furthest from cpu, if that matters at all.
