News This AR Laptop Promises a 100-inch Virtual Screen, But Limits You to Web Apps

interesting and niche device, shame there’s no more photos on how the UI looks outside of marketing renders! regarding the last section about privacy, I maintain that ripping the polarizing filter of a laptop then putting it on your glasses is the best option for the foreseeable future

News Six Raspberry Pi 4's Power Sci-Fi-Themed Chinese Take-Out Signage

When did that happen? My impressions is it’s still 4k60 over one HDMI. If I have to guess the trade off is dropping support for some legacy HDMI features

Review MSI Raider GE78 HX Review: A Taller Brawler

for the writer’s information, there’s a minor issue with the color testing chart, the DCI-P3 and sRGB label is swapped, but I believe the text is correct

Question Turbo Boost on i9-10900K when it's doing nothing ?

you might have a better luck looking at the “Effective Core Clock” as the “Core Clock” disregards all C states, so like previously mentioned, even if a core is at C7 and 0MHz you can still see it at 5GHz. The only time the Core Clock reports correct numbers is when your C state residency is 0%...

Question Temperature of one CPU Core is 100C while the others are ok ?

my laptop have two cores which constantly reaches 95+ while the other two cores are fairly cool at ~80. I even suspected the stock thermal paste didn’t touch the other two cores. When I repasted with a Thermalgrizzly kryonaut apparently there’s plenty of paste and temps only improved a few...

[SOLVED] Do I need to turn off Win11 memory integrity to undervolt and can I turn it back on after?

I’m pretty sure it’s just whenever the program is running, not installed. I could be wrong, haven’t checked. As to the original question, if you’re really concerned about security, you could use XTU to find a setting your PC is stable with, then apply it in BIOS and turn Mem Integrity back on.

News Intel Battlemage, Celestial GPUs Are Booked in at TSMC: Report

I'm pretty concerned about Intel's GPU division, Q3 2024 would put it just in front of RTX 5000 and RX 8000 series, and unless Intel could leapfrog Nvidia and AMD they're going after RTX 4000. Furthermore if their previous leaked "target of <225 watts" holds true, and assuming an enormous jump...

News How to Make a Minecraft Server on Raspberry Pi

easiest way I can think of is simply copying the world save over to your Pi from your PC, it shouldn’t pose too much issues.

Review SideTrak Swivel Portable Monitor Review: Swing and a Miss

Get two of those, stick it to the left and right of your laptop, and you'll get the legendary triple monitor laptop which numerous companies attempted but all failed. This is more promising than those failed products, provided they iron out the issues. I'm also concerned about the stress on the...

News Raja Koduri Leaves Intel to Found Software Start-Up

I'm very confident Intel will at the very least follow through their roadmap to Druid instead of cutting it now, but there's no saying what would be after that. It's about damage limitation, imagine opening a shop and closing it the next day after serving only 5 customers, at the very least you...

News Raja Koduri Leaves Intel to Found Software Start-Up

this is surprising and definitely breaking, I’m curious on what would Intel achieve without him, and they better fix most, if not all, bugs by Battlemage or this is really going to turn into a billion dollar sinkhole. Same applies to their CPU division, if nothing good comes out of it the whole...

    News Intel Rumored to Pull-in 2nm Arrow Lake-S Launch to H1 2024

My bad, I got them confused. Regardless, this is way too fast for Intel or any development in general and I don’t see how they can get this on the shelves in one year

    News Intel Rumored to Pull-in 2nm Arrow Lake-S Launch to H1 2024

I thought 20A isn’t even taped out yet and would only be production ready in H1 23, if that’s the case then the soonest product we can see using 20A is probably in H2 23 or even 24

News Core i9-13900K and RTX 4090 Run at Sub-Zero Temps Outside

My thoughts exactly, if there isn't any liquid components (like AIO) in the PC, it should function more or less just fine regardless of temperature. That reminded me, the liquid in the vapor chamber may freeze, but when it thaws I think it's going to be alright.

News Windows 7 Reportedly Gets Secure Boot in Last Dying Gasp

Why is everyone acting like W10 will reach EOL at 2025? Like Windows 7 it'll get support in the LTSC channel for probably another 5 years, and add another 2 years from Extended Security Updates we're looking at another decade for Windows 10 support, for a total of 17 or 18 years. That's pretty...
