Is there difference between an APU and a CPU with integrated graphics?

So an APU is basically a CPU and a GPU put on a same die, in order for them to communicate more efficiently (and to use the GPU for some numbers crunching typically done by the CPU as far as I know). On the other hand, we have CPUs with integrated graphics. In the past, integrated graphics were...

Unlocking the 4th core in a Phenom II X3 710 on a mobo without ACC?

Hello, I have an AMD Phenom II X3 710 which I already overclocked to 3.12 GHz. But I wonder if I am able to squeeze more performance out of it since apparently, all Phenom II triple cores are actually quad cores with one core disabled and sold at a lower price. Also, in order for this to work...

When should I get a new gaming PC?

Hello, I got my current gaming PC (9600 GT, Phenom II X3 710 and 4 GB of RAM) in 2009. It served me well, and still does, since I've been able to max out every game on 1440x900 except a few newer games (Far Cry 3, Metro 2033 etc) and some older (GTA IV for example) and still get reasonable frame...

Can you explain to me CPU overclocking? (I'm not a complete newbie)

Hello, so I am not new to the concept of overclocking, as I have managed to gain quite a bit of performance from my GPU, as you can see on my profile. Also, I am studying to be a computer technician, so I know some basic stuff like what is the FSB or North Bridge. But now, I've been thinking...

Am I doing this correctly (GTX 680 4gb)?

Download a stress test program like MSI Kombustor. Choose the resolution, Direct X version, settings, etc. and run it for a few minutes. If it shows artifacts (white spots, lines or anything else that is not a part of the furry object displayed) then your overclock is not stable and you should...

Help Overclocking. Im up to 1130MHz Clock // PLEASE READ

Get a stress test program like MSI Kombustor and run it for a few minutes. It will show a furry object on the screen which puts a lot of stress on your GPU. If you see any artifacts appearing (white spots, different colored lines or geometric shapes or anything else that is not supposed to be on...

    Graphic card Suggestion!!!

a 7870 is a really good card for modern games, but if you want something more but not for a lot of money, try to get a 7870 LE which is a 7800 card only by name and actually uses the GPU used in 7900 cards. Question about overclocking

When you overclock by yourself, you will probably make the warranty on that card become invalid. So, if you GPU dies because you pushed it too far, you don't get a replacement. Also, when you buy a card that is factory overclocked, you are sure that it will run and be stable at those speeds...

Should I upgrade my PC or buy a completely new one?

Also, I would probably have to upgrade my PSU. I can't really see what it says on my PSU but I think it is 450 W if i recall correctly.

Should I upgrade my PC or buy a completely new one?

Hello, I have had this gaming rig since 2008, and of course it is not so high end today. My specs are: Motherboad: ASUS M3N78 SE CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 710 2600 MHz GPU: Gigabyte 9600 GT (GV-N96TZL-1GI) overclocked to 800 / 2000 / 1000 MHz (core / shader / memory) RAM: 4 GB 800 MHz (I think it...
