    Check Vcore with CPU-Z or Core temp while running prime95. My 4790K was overvolted with my motherboard. Are you sure you seated the stock cooler correctly? Look at the back of the case (mobo cutout) and see if the four connectors are set up properly.

    I updated the BIOS to F6 (the latest version) and the Vcore is now 1.23 @ 4.4GHz and 5 minutes of prime95 I'm at 78 degrees max. I couldn't be happier. Thanks for the help.

    Hi, this 4790K is at stock settings and includes an aftermarket Hyper 212 EVO cooler. Is the Vcore (1.4) too high at the stock turbo settings? I get 96 degrees Celsius after two minutes in prime95. At idle temps (35) and gaming (65) it's fine.
