    Gelid GC-Extreme thermal paste

I just found this website and it says that the material is Aluminum Oxide: http://forum.x cpus.com/xtreme-news/17430-80-way-thermal-interface-material-performance-test.html But it says that the GC-1 is also Aluminum Oxide. I looked up GC-1 and a bunch of other sites says that it's silicone...

Did you try switching it to PWM fan control instead of DC? And doesn't this fan come with a fan controller attachment?

    Gelid GC-Extreme thermal paste

I have a direct-touch heat pipe heatsink by Xigmatek and I read that there can be problems if a silicone-based paste is used because it is prone to air exposure due to the gaps between the pipes. I was wondering if anyone knows what the Gelid GC-Extreme paste is made of and if it can be used on...

Gap between the center of CPU and lapped heatsink

I applied AS5 to an A64 X2 3800 CPU and spread it into a thin layer and then put a lapped heatsink that came with the CPU onto it and it was running for a few weeks. Today, I decided to try a different thermal paste and when I removed the heatsink, I saw that the center of the CPU was not...

    Random crashes/reboots. Memory problem?

No, I'm not running the RC. I think it was just a compatability issue with the RAM. I replaced it with 2x2gb OCZ Gold DDR2 800 memory last week and it's running on Auto settings. It hasn't rebooted itself since. I might have to give it a little more time because it sometimes takes a while for...

    VNF3-250 and Windows 7

I turned off hardware acceleration in the Flash settings and now Youtube, and even Hulu, runs smoothly in full-screen. There are occasional stutters but I think that most people would consider it bearable. It has been very responsive and seems to be faster than my Intel Atom N270 netbook :na:.

Specific way to connect SATA devices to motherboard?

I have a 1TB Hitachi Deskstar hard drive that won't wake up from standby on Win 7 x64. I've applied the patch that's supposed to fix it but it didn't work. I was wondering if there is a specific way to hook up SATA devices to the motherboard and if I might have messed it up. My motherboard...

    Random crashes/reboots. Memory problem?

I have been getting random reboots on my M2A-VM motherboard. These would happen out of nowhere, whether the system is under load or not. The system seems completely stable and is able to run Prime95 blend test for hours without errors. Then suddenly, something odd happens like Aero would stop...

    VNF3-250 and Windows 7

I managed to get the sound working through the proprietary Chaintech multimedia card thing that came with my motherboard. I went into the C-Media audio settings and enabled the S-Bracket and switched it to 5.1 audio and I am receiving audio through the rear channel port. I have no idea why I...

    M2A-VM Keeps Crashing

I bought a refurbished M2A-VM from geeks.com to replace an ECS board. My computer on the ECS board worked fine except one of the on-board USB ports was not working and I wanted a board with on-board DVI. So after I moved everything over to the M2A-VM board it starts crashing a lot. It would...

    No audio after win 7.

I am not getting sound either on my VNF3-250. The front panel headphone jack connected to the AC'97 pin-out works fine but I can't get audio from the back. What cheap PCI sound card would you guys recommend that would work with Windows 7 x86? I see a bunch on eBay listed for $5 shipped but I'm...
