Can the leds come on even if there is a short?

Except the entire I/O does not work.(USB, audio, and display) The monitor works with my XBOX.

Yes, there is a no signal message on my monitor. I did the cmos reset but I don't know if it did anything.

Right now the motherboard is out of the case with all the components installed, and yes when I had the motherboard in the case I did put in the standoffs. I do not see any BIOS splash screen when I used the onboard.

I did not install drivers yet, or the OS because I can't see what the computer is doing on my monitor. Should I put the driver disc that comes with the mobo in the PC?

Yes, all the leds turn on but the ones under the logo and the SupremeFX leds fade in and out. I think this is something that you can change in the BIOS.

#12 on that list could be the problem. When I was applying the thermal paste I was not getting any out so I added some force and a glob came out. I got a paper towel and dabbed it in the paste to get some of it off but a string of the paste got on the motherboard as I pulled the towel up. Should...
