    New build for £1000

Here's what I've come up with, it's SLI-prepped, and I think I've got adequate cooling. In some cases I had to add some approximate to the actual parts listed, but at the core it's what I want. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3gVYj

    New build for £1000

Thanks, that's looking pretty nice. I was also looking at motherboards like the Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 (https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-g1sniperz87). Also, I'm tempted to get an SLI-Ready system because I really like the idea of it, particularly given the...

What do you think about the parts i picked for my custom build pc?

With that budget, if you can, try and fit in a 120GB solid state drive. It'll be really worth the price, boot times will be lovely and you can put some games on it too!

    New build for £1000

Hi everyone, I'm looking to build a new computer, mostly for good gaming performance, but I sometimes do some light work in Photoshop and Blender. I also want to be able to do some decent overclocking. I'll probably be fine with a 1TB mechanical hard drive and a good 120GB SSD. I already have a...

    Computer Build Case?

A lot of this will be down to personal preference, but the Corsair 200R would be a good one to look at.

    Computer Build Case?

Build quality's going to be a big factor in this. For example, a £15 case might come with fans and everything and seem like an amazing deal. However, it will not be of equal construction to a £50 case that will, in many situations, last longer. Also, any bundled fans with a cheap case will...

Console Veteran Needs Help Building His First 4K Gaming Rig

Yes, that should give breathing space for probably another card. The total load power draw for one GTX 780Ti is around 264W, so two will draw around 528W. I used the Tomshardware method of calculating the needed voltage on the power supply's 12V rail, which is a good way to get an accurate...

Console Veteran Needs Help Building His First 4K Gaming Rig

Yes, processors from Intel that have a "k" suffix have unlocked multipliers, and can therefore be overclocked.

    Another PC component Thread

Yes. Most processors come with an Intel stock cooling fan, and they don't perform that well. However, the i7 3820 doesn't actually come with one, so you're certainly going to need an aftermarket CPU cooler. You could go for a closed loop water cooling system, but there are air coolers that do as...

Console Veteran Needs Help Building His First 4K Gaming Rig

Hi there! I can't give you all the answers, I don't think I'm experienced enough to do so, and don't want to screw anything up, but I can give you my thoughts etc. Also, I love thinking of builds, even if they ever go out of my budget or demolish my computer spec-wise... Cooling If you go with...
