Samsung U28D590D 28-Inch Ultra HD Monitor Review

The Amazon link to the PB287Q links to the incorrect product, mistakenly leading me to believe that it was 399.99 USD. That's a huge difference in price which really sets a person's opinion on value...please fix.

    Tested: Nvidia's Performance-Boosting GeForce 337.50 Driver

I'm sure NVIDIA had something to say about it, but I'd *REALLY* like to see more 600 series cards in these benchmarks. Or any.

    Microsoft Testing License-Free Windows Phone

One thing I'll add here is that this news comes in along with Intel announcing mobile chips that are Operating-System Locked. Microsoft might give you the software, but the chip makers follow their orders and make sure you can't do *anything* with it.

    Radeon R9 290X Review: AMD's Back In Ultra-High-End Gaming

Sheesh, wow, yes. When they make a 20nm stepping of this thing, it's going to melt faces off.

PC for gaming, looking to upgrade, just not sure what

Just as one additional aside: There is a Visiontek drive-bay PSU as well, which is cheaper, but it has been reviewed as HORRIBLY loud by hardocp , and has a bad reputation on the THG forums. The FSP one, though, I'll vouch for. Do understand that it adds another failure-point to your system, but...

Bay Trail On The Desktop: Celeron J1750 Gets Benchmarked

...What difference in efficiency numbers should we expect if you're not using an 860 W power supply? Or do you all now have a meter that measures at the motherboard? For those interested, the AX860i advertises 85% efficiency at 10% total power usage, meaning 86 Watts. Everything here is below...

    GTX 760 with Athlon x2 250 3ghz

FX.6000 series on AMD boards would be best, but the 4000s do okay so long as you're not playing Starcraft or Civ V at max. The Athlon 750, I believe, was what Tom's called the bottom for AMD gaming across all games.

Gaining More Space for Graphics Card Length

Crazy thing is...ain't much better-priced than ebay. At least if they flake out, you'll still get the card for about that price. And yes, turn off all overclocking. Heck, it pays to be paranoid, but if they were going to let me install it in front of them, I might take it as long as windows...

Gaining More Space for Graphics Card Length

...if he said "SLI" I would worry a bit, because that's a CrossFire card... It is best to see the card working if you're buying it used, or to buy it in a place where you have consumer-protections. Examine the card closely for any scratches or defects, stripped screw-heads, or loose...

PC for gaming, looking to upgrade, just not sure what

Your budget is fine: Go with this as a power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104054 and this as a graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131477 and remember to fill out for your mail-in rebate. Bam. $150 and you're set for...

    Old core 2 duo vs I3 540?

Here's another link: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ivy-bridge-wolfdale-yorkfield-comparison,3487.html The i3 540 should perform similarly to the Ivy Bridge G2020...which is not a lot of difference, if you ask me. Sure, the Wolfdale mentioned in that article is faster than the Conroe your...

Needs Urgent Clarification Regarding CPU Fan Operation

Just as an aside, it's probably starting up, then loading the fan profile from the BIOS. That behavior is fairly normal on ASUS boards, as they have, sometimes, a fan curve that keeps the system as quiet as possible.

    Graphics Card Just Won't Work!

I initially thought "that's a PCI-Express 1.0 motherboard," but because it's not (it's 1.1), the GPU should work. I'm going to guess power supply, here, because that machine is pretty old, I doubt the PSU has aged well, no matter how many Watts it says it has. That's a workstation machine, so...

    Want 2400, having 2320 :/

There's so little noticeable difference in those two that you might as well claim to have a 2400. You can measure a tiny difference between them, but it will never mean an appreciable amount of wait time for any task. So, Yeah. Be happy.
