[SOLVED] Ryzen 3900X motherboard for 24/7 use

Title says it all really. I want to know what the best motherboard will be for a Ryzen 3900x that will be pushed moderately hard 24/7. Something preferably under $300 and also needs to be X570. My use for it will be virtual machines and large data files in SAS/Excel. PCPartPicker Part List...

[SOLVED] Do I need to upgrade my PSU?

A 650w G3 would be excellent for your build like excellent for CPU overclocking and RTX2070 super (overclocking) too. No need to get an 850w if you pick the overkill route pick a P2 EVGA unit. I use them in virtually all my builds.

Question Can I undervolt my RTX 2060 in order for it to run using a 500w psu?

Here are my brand/model recommendations: EVGA G3/P2, Corsair RMx, SeaSonic FOCUS/FOCUS Plus and SeaSonic PRIME ULTRA.

Question Help me choose a PSU for this build

I would recommend either the RMx (better than the RM) 550w or EVGA G3 550w. I don't see how a 650 would be required here although it wouldn't hurt. Better to go with quality than more wattage once you meet the minimums. The CX is better than it use to be (like a lot) but it still is worth...

    Question Build PC's 4 a Living?

I've done this since 2015. I build out of my home/office and have a "build room" made out of our guest room. Anti-static surfaces, test setups, etc. I've got a website and an order platform with advertising on facebook marketplace and other free posting websites. Typically I build 3-4 a month so...

[SOLVED] Power supply tripping AFCI breaker?

Can you post your entire setup? That EVGA PSU isn't known to be a good one, but it shouldn't trip the breaker.

Question 4pin not delivering enough power?

No, that unit isn't going to work. At a minimum, a Corsair CX (gray label) 450w will be required. Also if you can go with 2x4gb sticks of RAM instead of 1x8gb ( View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgCME7Y1EO8 ). As for the motherboard, you will also need an older CPU (Ryzen 2xxx or 1xxx...

[SOLVED] Need advice on old rig upgrade

I second that above. I would prefer to not eat fast food for a few months and use a Corsair CX even though I personally don't like them since for 20 bucks more you can get a top of the line 550w.

    Question Psu causing power outage

No you don't that is not going to work. Please don't do this I can feel everyone here pulling their hair out. If you have the money to spend on an RTX2070 and a 9900 you have more than enough money to buy a quality PSU. Now for a series of legit recommendations: EVGA G3 650w or 750w...

Discussion Intel 10th Gen Desktop CPU's

Is PCIE gen 4 really that useful yet? I am not so sure. We don't have graphics cards able to take advantage of it yet although some NVME SSDs can. Sure is a bummer though from upgradability and ever the more reason to buy Ryzen. Looks like Intel is slipping behind in more than one area making my...

Question PC Randomly Shutdown/Restarts After ~2 Hours of Use

Glad you solved the issue! If it works it works. Wattage and efficiency cert doesn't mean that much. The first requirement is to meet the wattage which is super easy to do these days with how little power systems draw even compared to those from a few years ago. Efficiency is just that and has...

Question PC Randomly Shutdown/Restarts After ~2 Hours of Use

I completely agree. I hate Windows 10 too. I've been dual-booting Windows 7 and some variant of Linux since the beginning of time (at least since 7 came out). There are a few things you can do to make Windows 10 look and feel more like Windows 7 including killing some of the privacy snatching...

    Question Possible PSU Failure?

Seems as though it might be a motherboard problem. Complete death is often indicative of a motherboard failure if not a PSU failure. You probably have done this but try a different power outlet, and unplug everything (literally everything that it doesn't need to turn on) unplug the hard drives...

    Question Which psu to choose?

I did a quick search for the L2 one you mentioned but didn't see a jonnyguru review for it. Only the M1 which seemed decent but not perfect. https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2015/04/06/silentiumpc-supremo-m1-gold-550w-power-supply/
