Hello I recently discovered while playing games and running benchmarks that a a strange artifact appears in the top left corner of my screen (Inside the red rectangle). Sometimes it flickers and sometimes it is solid and it takes on the colour of the background. I have changed NVIDIA drivers...

Do note Windows 7 does not support DirectX 12 if you're planning on playing games. You would need Windows 10 for DirectX 12

You may also want to to some cable management before you get too fair into the build, it looks like your cpu connector is running over the pci/pcie slots.

That's a great build for 1440p gaming. You will have no problems at 1440p.

If the Gigabyte is the cheapest get that one, it has very good cooling. Do note it takes 2.5 slot bays, it's a big card.

It won't work, the z97 boards use the intel 1150 socket, you will need to tell your friend to buy a 1151 socket/Z170 chipset motherboard for that cpu. If you're looking for something similar to that board Asus makes the Z170 Pro Gaming that will support the i7-6700k.
