Do you know how I can get the factory replacement? I bought my computer from a friend a few years ago and I don't think we have proof of ownership or warranty. Will Asus let me buy it from them?

I have an ATI Radeon HD 3870 This One: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/EAH3870GHTDI512M/ I want to replace the fan because it's not working well. The fan is not that strong and sometimes needs a push in order to start spinning.

I have several questions: - I looked at my gpu and it's using a 2 pin connector to the fan. If I buy a 3 pin fan, is it okay to use the 3 -> 2 pin adapter. - How do I remove my fan from my GPU? - My fan is screwed on pretty tight to my heatsink. Any tips here?
