    Banned or not banned?

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply, Kevin! I will make sure to do that when I get home.

    Banned or not banned?

Hello! I have a rather strange issue. A couple of days ago I noticed a message "You have been banned" while trying to reply to a post in one of my threads. To clarify, I don't use VPN or create fake accounts to "award" myself the best answers. In fact, I don't think I have broken any rules of...

GTX 780 SLI or single GTX 980 ti or single Titan X

I'd recommend going with GTX 980 Ti because, as you already mentioned, there are not many games that would require more than 6 Gb of VRAM (or even 4 Gb for that matter) unless you're gaming at 4k, which I doubt you are. And by the time when you do need more than 6 Gb of VRAM even Titan X will...

Strange screeching sound when turning off PC

Hello! I have rather weird issue. A while ago I installed a new SSD - Samsung 840 EVO and after a couple of months my system started making a strange screeching sound (for just a second or so) before it turned off. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it does not. I think it might also be coming...

i7 6700K: Good overclock or not?

Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated. Yesterday I actually had a BSOD while playing Crysis 3. Consequently I increased the voltage to 1.255, but it also resulted in a BSOD. I don't seem to have this issue while gaming at the default settings. Does this mean I should keep increasing the...

i7 6700K: Good overclock or not?

I know that it would be the logical step, but I'm afraid that I might damage the components if the system would crash or lock-up. If I do lower the voltage, should I do it at 0.005 steps? And what tests should I run afterwards? Should I just stick with Intel Burn Test and Firestrike?

i7 6700K: Good overclock or not?

This is actually one of the tests I used as a reference. So should I also try HandBrake, as it seems to be the main test to cause system instability even though other tests report no errors?

i7 6700K: Good overclock or not?

Hello guys! Just recently I overclocked my i7 6700K to 4.5 GHz at 1.250 VCORE. Is that a good state or should I try to lower the VCORE? I tried to run Intel Burn Test v2.54 for 20 runs and the system passed it. I also tried Firestrike Extreme and it also finished just fine. What else can I do...

New Skylake build freezes while gaming

Hello guys! I recently upgraded to Skylake and I have been experiencing a rather strange issue which I did not have with my previous CPU, MB and RAM - I have had a couple of complete freezes/lock-ups while gaming. All the fans keep spinning and the lights are on, but the PC is unresponsive and...

    For gaming: i7 6700K or i7 5820K?

Thanks a lot for you input, sizzling! Could you also suggest a motherboard to go along that i7 6700K? I was thinking about MSI Z170A Gaming M7, but it does not have quad channel RAM, which, in my opinion, is a bit unfortunate. And I'm also sceptical about the Killer LAN.

    For gaming: i7 6700K or i7 5820K?

Hello guys! I'm building a new PC, which will mainly be used for gaming. As you are probably aware, I can't decide between i7 6700K and i7 5820K, since they both require DDR4 memory. Which of these do you think would be better for gaming and what makes you lean one way or the other? I'd really...

Random shutdowns while gaming after graphics card replacement

I had a similar issue when I upgraded from GTX 760 to GTX 970. My PSU had 650W and was supposed to be perfectly fine, but it turned out that it was of really low build quality. Maybe yours is the same, so I would recommend that you borrow a different PSU from a friend in order to test if that is...

    Pc restarts on ultra games

It is most likely your PSU. I had a similar issue even though I had a 650W PSU - it had a really low build quality and, as a result, I couldn't even load the main menu of AC:U. My system would just lose power every time.
