[SOLVED] Brand new Gigabyte waterforce 2080ti is a lemon

First gaming pc in 8 years and this <Mod Edit> is what I get. On my old build the card refuses to load the driver (code 43 on device manager). On my new build, if I apply a bit of force on the pci-e slot it can sometimes work for hours, but as soon as I move the case even a little bit it...

    Computer freezes or experiences BSOD

Probably a hard disk failure. You said your computer was having problems recently, makes sense that the hard drive was slowly dying. Can you boot to safe mode? Run a memory test just to rule out RAM errors and try booting with only one RAM stick and no peripherals (just the HDD, mouse and...

BSOD (nvlddmkm.sys) with strips on startup

Download driver sweeper after uninstalling the graphics driver. Had a similar issue this week, could barely login to windows without getting the same bugcheck as yours. Simple uninstall didn't remove driver leftovers. Make sure to remove anything NVIDIA related with driver sweeper, including...

PC Boot Loop ... No solution found so far

We need to get a boot log of a failed boot. When you boot press F8 and select "enable boot logging". If the boot fails DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BOOT WINDOWS AGAIN. Boot the Ubuntu live cd and take the boot log with it. You could also try booting in safe mode and see what is the last driver to load...

PC Boot Loop ... No solution found so far

I think we can blame a windows driver for this issue, I just don't like the fact you can't get a BSOD, small chance it points to a hardware failure. I suggest these last steps: - Get ahold of the boot log and post it here. - Go to the BIOS and disable any absolutely non essential feature...

PC Boot Loop ... No solution found so far

Just to be clear, were you able to boot with Ubuntu? If so it could be a faulty driver. Try selecting the "enable boot logging" and with a live CD (Ubuntu) try to take a look at the boot log (should be at C:\windows\ntbtlog.txt).

PC Boot Loop ... No solution found so far

I assume ubuntu worked okay, since you reinstalled windows. When booting press F8 repeatedly until you get startup options. Choose "disable automatic restart on system failure", you should get a blue screen. Post it here. Then at the startup options choose "enable boot logging".

"KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (partmgr.sys)" on newly built rig

Start before the freezes. Start logging voltages under load for a short time. If the voltages are off by 5% (example on the 5V rail you should see a voltage between 4.75 and 5.25) then something is definitely wrong with the PSU. If everything is okay the you have no choice but to wait for the...

"KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (partmgr.sys)" on newly built rig

Latest AIDA trail version censors voltages. Use this instead. Once installed go to tools -> start recording. Note that it won't save logs if it crashes (or if the whole system crashes). Stress your system until you notice freezes, stop recording (tools-> stop recording) and post the voltages...

    Malfunctioning video card diagnostic software?

Any benchmark tool will do (like 3Dmark). Try furMark. Its great at stressing the s*** out of the GPU. If you don't get crashes then probably nothing is wrong with the (GPU) hardware.

"KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (partmgr.sys)" on newly built rig

A 500W PSU is like poison for your system. If I remember correctly most of Nvidia's GPUs need a MINIMUM of 500W (you got a 970!). On top of that you have a K Intel CPU. Even if the system doesn't draw 500W, just being close to that wattage causes voltage instability. The crashes you experience...
