I set my target frequency to 5ghz on my 7700k in the bios and it boots fine but when i check cpu z it doesnt go above 4.5ghz (even under load) it also says in the "avanced" tab of my bios that the max cpu speed is 4200mhz

So i have an i7 7700k in an asus gaming pro z170. I want to change my motherboard to the asus prime-a z270 because it has mire f6eatures and fits in better with my colour scheme. Will i have to reinstall windows?(windows 10 64bit and all other hardware will stay the same)
