As a side note, according to NVidia's roadmap, the Pascal GPUs that should launch in 2016 will have HBM (v2) as well.

40% IPC improvement is huge, although Intel CPUs will still have the advantage, since they have approx. 60% (prob. 65% in 2016) higher IPC - especially in synth benchmarks (e.g. Cinebench, 75%). Still, it will make AMD vastly more competitive, especially if they can keep their lower prices...

@QsD for the same reason that you get better performance with RAID in stripe mode. They use more of the same modules as the smaller SSDs and can distribute the writes to more modules.

Works in IE11 too - that's what I looking at it with right now...

Issuing multiple instructions introduces overhead that does not scale well with performance => energy efficiency suffers. The latest Itanium is a good example: 12 instructions per cycle per core, slowest clock and the highest power consumption. And this is done in HW! I am pretty sure...

The biggest thing for me is the orientation-agnostic connector. Like half the times, I am plugging the cable the other way...
