So just to clarify, does the supported list on the MSI website not matter that much? Should the RAM still be OC'able? If so, is the reaction of the computer to immediately turn off after the power button is pushed a normal reaction for incorrect OC settings?
Hi all.
I have purchased overclock memory without realising the manufacturers list of supported OC memory on the MB does not support it. Does this mean that the memory will never be able to be overclocked on that MB? I know this is a bit stupid, but it is only my second build and i didn't...
So i bought this RAM from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007TG91WQ/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It states in the description that the RAM is 1866mhz, but on installing it reports in the BIOS as 1333mhz.
I tried increasing its speed via the BIOS but the machine just...
Hi all, i have just checked my cpu temp with speedfan, it is reporting as 128oC. The BIOS (MSI) reports it as 52oC.
Which one is correct? I assume the BIOS knows best? Just for imformation, the speedfan result never fluctuates, just flatline 128oC
Better to go with a dedicated card for this build than the one in the build above. Quadro or Firepro cards are the ones usually recommended for rendering and CAD tasks. Theses cards are a bit more expensive for good ones though. The software manufacturers such as Autodesk have lists of approved...
Thanks for the help, greatly appreciated. Can you tell me, does the corsair case (i changed to the one you suggested it does look much better) come with basic fans installed in all the slots or are the slots empty? Also, is faster RAM worth bothering about? I see for about the same price i can...
So isn't the i7's hyper threading supposed to be better for Cad and 3D work? This will be mostly for work and some gaming, so the ability of the machine to handle that is paramount.
@Dannyboy, the budget is about £1800. The current setup is working out at around £1500 including a monitor, but there is some wiggle room if you can suggest improvements.
@Mrdannok: Cooling is something i am concerned about, can you recommend anything specific that would be suitable for this...
