    I almost think your cooler has gone bad. Is it possible you can swap it out with another cooler to test it?

    So I read that you can sand the lid of your CPU and plate of your water cooler with like 2k sand paper and this will greatly improve the bond between your thermal paste and metal, which in turn cools it better. Is this actually worth it and does it really work?

    you may need to redo the thermal paste. If you are using a closed loop its possible it could have clogged.

    If you plan on over clocking then yes any water cooler will do that does fit the 1150 socket but if you don't plan on overclocking the stock cooler will work just fine.

    If you plan on doing multi tasking go with an AMD build. They are under intel spec wise when it comes to CPU performance, but when it comes to multitasking AMD always wins.

    its sounds like your power supply may be dying. trying replacing it and see if this helps.
