News AMD's 96-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 9995WX benchmark results listed in Geekbench database

Take anything from Geekbench with a generous pinch of salt. Formerly in bed with Intel and now cosying up to Apple.

Review AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D Review: Stunning gaming performance meets top-tier productivity

I'm not sure that's correct, TSMC don't design, they implement the designs of their clients into their processing.

News Two Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPUs burned out on X870 motherboards — vendor investigates the Ryzen burnout issues

I suspect someone probably made this point already on the thread, if so , apologies. It does seem this is all a nothing burger. The CPU's it appears were installed incorrectly. Question to ask, an experience PC builder is unlikely to make this school boy error? I mean, and apologies for the...

Review AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Review: Devastating Gaming Performance

I wonder how much the GPU bottleneck would be reduced at the highest resolution when the RTX 5090 is released? 9800X3D + 5090 dream team.

My CPU temperature is averaging 45 c from AIO cooling. The noise levels from the case are reasonable. Great gaming, OK on other stuff. Can't complain 🙂

Are you serious? Since when has Ryzen 7000 series been less efficient than the Rapture Lake toaster? Thanks for the chuckle 🤭 🤭

Discussion What is your preference for cooling your CPU ?

I was since I started this hobby, a person who attached air fan onto the CPU, water and electricity is asking for trouble, yes? I must admit I was swayed by aesthetics of AIO water cooling more so than the advantages, this is appropriate with dual chamber PC cases not so much, if you have a...

I suspect that is true, same could be said for the other site I frequent, What Hi Fi. They both belong to the same group Future Publishing Limited.

The Presonus can be found also in the same price bracket, they're also very good. There's the Mackies, Alesis as well as the Edifiers. It does appear TH missed the mark and I suspect they were playing safe or copying pasting from their sponsors.

News Noctua's next-gen flagship CPU cooler finally arrives — Noctua NH-D15 G2 released at $150

I was teasing LOL. Noctua have black fans but their brown and beige seem to stick out with modern motherboards but I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😊 Noctua are quality but pricey. Some case fan manufacturers come with reversible fans. My APNX FP2 30mm deep 120mm metal frame case...

If only motherboards came in beige and brown. Noctua, reversible case fans would be nice. 😊

I've done the maths in my head. My Adams A series and Focal subwoofer costs about the same price. Some people will spend as much on GPU. Gaming small thing, music big thing for me. I agree with you about TH review, better substance and research would have been welcoming.

Best PC Speakers: From Budget to Audiophile Bliss

I believe there are active speakers with built-in DAC, Kanto monitors and may be even Triangle have them. Yes if you're strapped for cost, a PC sound card should suffice. Really depends on what you're looking for in terms of sound quality and what you've allocated for your budget. External DACs...

Best PC Speakers: From Budget to Audiophile Bliss

With the exception of Audioengine, I was a little underwhelmed by THW selection. PC audio has evolved many folds from those tinny plastic sounding thingies! Save your money and buy something that allows more faithful reproduction of the music or more realism in gaming. There are many studio...
