NZXT has some decent budget cases 210 source comes to mind. rosewill challenger is pretty good in that price range too. Some of these budget cases have little to no cable management though mind you, great cable management is usually a feature of nice (read $$$) cases.

well, first off, those cables are full sized DP, your card has mini-DP, so no. I believe 3 mini-DP to HDMI cables will get you 3 monitors for normal use, but for surround gaming, you need active cables/adapters like was said...they're like $30 a pop

You sound a tad bored...but if it isn't broken, i wouldn't take it apart, just clean it out. Honestly, i would take it back apart and do it over again, paying special attention to the seating of the CPU and power connections.

So you haven't tried to run it yet? you may have ruined the LCD if i'm picturing it correctly in my mind, but boot it up and see. That's the only thing that i would think may be messed up...and you may be able to find a replacement panel and top for it...

It all looks just fine to me, and i'll say, that will be one beastly gaming machine. There will be some input you'll get on different/better choices, but it will work great as you currently have it. What kind of budget are you on? because there's a few things you could change that would save...

I have a few cheap plastic bins (roughly shoebox size) that i keep different kinds of cables and things in) they're shelved for easy access. Got them at Wally world i believe.

If it's a HDD, and not an SSD, you shouldn't lose much if any, no HDD's can saturate a SATA II connection. Current SSD's can though. You may lose a touch of speed on it just being an older controller, but not an amount you could ever notice.

The only issue i could see is how restricted HP BIOS's tend to be, with my last one, it was set to RAID and couldn't be changed to AHCI, so check in your device manager to see what it's running as, if it's AHCI there shouldn't be any problem.

It sound like the machine is trying to boot from the SSD, get into your BIOS and make sure your USB/DVD is before the SSD in boot order and just start the install over. And no, this shouldn't have bricked anything :)

HDD to HDD is pretty much the same as HDD to SSD, only real difference is size and speed. Any cloning software (Acronis or Clonezilla as examples) can do it from HDD to SSD or HDD to HDD or whatever combination you'd want. I personally use Acronis True Image and it works very well.
