The fan controller comes with a extension cable right? Where did you plug that in? Just to double check, the cable labelled 'extension' is it connected to the white socket on the fan controller?

I got a asus gtx670 direct cu mini for my x51 and I have to drill a hole in the bottom of the case to make space for the 6pin power to the gpu.

I just recently move to a new case from my X51. While I was waiting for my new PSU, I'm using the X51 power supply to power up the pc in the new case. My case is NZXT Noctis 450. I basically chunked in the power brick at the PSU bracket its cable connect to the small power port of the X51 case...

just to be sure. Can you upload a photo of your power brick? I can tell whether its a 240W or 330W. X51 doesnt run in 180W.
