Are Cheap DVD Burners Worth the Trouble?

I do have one of four that is a little on the loud side, but only at spool up. Have been using them for over a year with maybe only a couple of coasters(less than 1%) using ridata dvd+r media. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817132389 Liggy & Dee's RPC1 1.Y6 firmware...

Are Cheap DVD Burners Worth the Trouble?

There are many who use NEC drives. There are gems to be found in the below $40.00 catagory like the now mostly unavailible NEC ND-3550A. This is a great drive on the cheap, especially running Liggy & Dee's RPC1 1.Y6 firmware.

AMD Pushes Opteron Clocks to 3 GHz, Boasts of Benchmarks

I respect you and many others who contribute to this forum. There is a lot of good information to be found here. The bickering back and fourth can get annoying sometimes, but I have been enlightened on many occasions. :)

AMD Pushes Opteron Clocks to 3 GHz, Boasts of Benchmarks

I would assume that the tone of your reply is based partially on the title of this thread. The title was pasted from the article. I assure you that my intensions were to point out the very fact you have stated. Although these benchmarks may be skewed to fit whomever is providing the...

AMD's Rebound, from the horse's mouth

Like most here, I don't mind paying less for my next got to have it processor, but not at the expense of stock performance. Although the dividends that Intel pays are pretty nice, I would like to see better returns from the 800 pound gorilla. Long live AMD & Intel!!!

AMD still confident , though set to miss Q1 numbers

I'm not so sure. I know this is comparing apples to oranges, but wasn't Nvidia in the same situation as AMD a couple of years ago when they were trading at $9+ range?

I think that would have worked 6 months ago. :)

AMD still confident , though set to miss Q1 numbers

Thanks for the advice. :) I'm not so much chasing the bottom but at these extremely low stock prices, AMD is looking like a very good buy in at these levels.

AMD still confident , though set to miss Q1 numbers

I just purchased 450 shares of AMD stock @ $13.02 per share; and own 890 shares total. I also own 2147 shares of Intel and am pi$$ed that Intel spends 5 times the money in R&D and it's stock price is currently just $6 higher. Funny how Intel only gained 23 cents on the new processor news, and...

Ninja, please read entire tread. No one said that Barc would be 40% faster than future Intel offerings.

AMD still confident , though set to miss Q1 numbers

Sorry to say but this is done in most fields of engineering everyday. Today a design is concieved and tested wholy using computer models. Not a dime is spent on fabrication until that design is thoroughly tested in this way. Although this may not be they case in processor design, it is not out...
