Yes he is an engineer but nuclear engineering has nothing to do with (AFAIK) anything Intel has in their portfolio of products. Lisa Su on the other hand has her degree in electrical engineering with computer chip design being part of it. Sure they are both engineers but one has direct...

It takes about 4 years to bring out a new chip. Intel half attempted to do this with their hybrid design, but it hasn't done enough yet.

Far too many US companies have CEO's from the marketing department. Compare that to Germany where most CEO's are from R&D. It isn't surprising that AMD's resurgence came about when they hired Lisa Su an engineer to be CEO.

News Even upscalers can't resuscitate a $10 GPU—13-year-old GTX 660 is so slow that FSR can't give it a boost

Well the Zen 3 chips were released almost 5 years ago now. Zen 4 and Zen 5 all come with a iGPU, except for the F series, that is good enough for desktop and most HTPC applications. If you need more iGPU than that you can get a G series which existed all the way back to the 2400G (Zen 1 uArc) in...

News Even upscalers can't resuscitate a $10 GPU—13-year-old GTX 660 is so slow that FSR can't give it a boost

Modern iGPUs can already do that and at lower power draw. Then it all depends on the number of video ports your motherboard has. Sadly most are only 3 so you would need to use something like DisplayLink for a 4th monitor.

Question Difference between G5, G6, and GR EVGA power supplies

There is a lot more than just a connector as the difference between 2.5 and 3.0. Not to mention most new models are all ATX 3.X anyways and IIRC ATX 3 requires 16AWG cables for the GPU instead of 18AWG that was normal on ATX 2.X.

Question Difference between G5, G6, and GR EVGA power supplies

Note that none of them are ATX 3.X PSUs though. IMO it doesn't make sense to buy an ATX 2.53 PSU in 2025.

News HDMI 2.2 is here with new 'Ultra96' Cables — up to 16K resolution, higher maximum 96 Gbps bandwidth than DisplayPort, backwards compatibility & more

I find it interesting that you have stability issues at 48Gb on copper. People use copper cables inside their server racks at 100Gb port speed for distances up to 5M. I wonder if the cables you have used just aren't quite thick enough for that distance as 5M 100Gb DACs are 26AWG.

Question Script to recursively run MD5 checksum on files in a folder and subfolders

This command will check an entire folder for you. You would run the command for both folders. Get-ChildItem -Path "<folder_path>" -Recurse -File | Get-FileHash -Algorithm <algorithm_name> If you pipe this command to the end of the command above it will output into a csv file. At which point...

News The FAA seeks to eliminate floppy disk usage in air traffic control systems

As soon as you start stripping things down it is a custom OS. Don't mess around with the OS at all. Just use the entire thing off the self.

News The FAA seeks to eliminate floppy disk usage in air traffic control systems

Again you are talking about a custom OS. That is just not a good idea. Use Windows Server, SUSE, Red Hat, etc... and be done with it. Don't build your own thing for it.

News The FAA seeks to eliminate floppy disk usage in air traffic control systems

Since Win 7, you can easily upgrade your OS to the newer versions. For Windows Server you have been able to go to newer versions since 2016 (might have been able to do it in 2008 but I'm not positive on that). Not to mention your enterprise level OS's (Windows, SUSE, Red Hat, etc...) offer at...

News The FAA seeks to eliminate floppy disk usage in air traffic control systems

Outside of the change from 9X to XP causing a lot of previous software to not work due to major architecture differences in the OS most software designed on XP will work on Win 11. Upgrading the OS, while for sure a non trivial task, still allows for you to use older software. Also using...

Question Difference between G5, G6, and GR EVGA power supplies

I'd throw this in with the 750W PSUs as well. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zQ88TW/seasonic-focus-gx-atx-30-v4-2024-750-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-focus-gx-750-v4

Question Difference between G5, G6, and GR EVGA power supplies

Those are all models of different ages. The G5 came out in 2019, G6 in 2021, and GT in 2022. EVGA also doesn't make their own PSUs so each model has a different OEM. G5 OEM is FSB, G6 is SeaSonic, and GT is HEC. Of those the G6 and GT are the overall best, however, in 2025 it doesn't make sense...
