News Nvidia Stolen Data Reportedly Reveals Ada, Hopper, Blackwell GPUs

"Therefore, we recommend you take the news with a truckload of salt." This seems to be the sum of all stories on Tom's lately. I ask you, why read if you only report rumors? Steps off my high horse

News Nvidia Rewarms RTX 2060, GTX 1050 Ti Amidst GPU Shortage

GDRR-6 modules ARE in shortage actually, among many other things related to GPU/CPU manufacturing. It's not just the FABS that are at a premium, it's the components that go into them to make the cards/chips that are shorting out now. Only good news I see here is I may be able to sell my used...

News Cyberpunk 2077 Up 1.11 Fixes Game-Breaking Bug Caused by Patch 1.1

I think the problem here resides in the fact that the "new windows" have features that the old ones didn't, and are therefore incompatible with the "old" windows. This could be something like a thicker pane, larger area, different frame material, etc. But for whatever reason, the old and new...

News Report: AMD Chip Shortage Caused by Packaging Issues, PlayStation 5

Sorry... "Going under" would be better read "falling behind". I did not mean to imply they were on the verge of going out of business or into bankruptcy. IT was meant as a comparison to AMD's tech improvements vs Intel's over the past few years. Intel's woes with 10nm are because they had...

News Adata Teams Up with Gigabyte & MSI for 64GB DDR5-8400 Memory Modules

Density does not really impact price/GB. It's simply how much you can fit on a single chip. Depends on what you are measuring. 16GB of DDR4 will hold the same amount of data that 16GB of DDR5 will hold. In that respect, they are equal. As for speed, DDR5 is going to be much faster transferring...

News Report: AMD Chip Shortage Caused by Packaging Issues, PlayStation 5

Intel is now going under because of the very fact that they still do all manufacturing in house. The price of Fab/Node research is existential to maintain. Intel ultimately could not support the research, and now they have seriously fallen behind AMD. But you might have misunderstood my other...

News Report: AMD Chip Shortage Caused by Packaging Issues, PlayStation 5

And then you also have the parts necessary for the fabs to create chips, which are now at a premium as well. More fabs, no matter who owns them, isn't going to help if the supply to build the chips themselves is lacking. Fabs are just the process.

News Report: AMD Chip Shortage Caused by Packaging Issues, PlayStation 5

Which is like saying "They only sell one at a time, right?" I guarantee it took them MUCH longer to build the CPUs than it did for them to sell out, even at a lot-capacity.

News Report: AMD Chip Shortage Caused by Packaging Issues, PlayStation 5

Sure it is. It takes months to fully build a CPU, whereas it took moments for it to disappear from the shelf. That's technically "Faster".

News European Retailer Reveals How Scarce AMD Radeon RX 6800, RX 6800 XT GPUs Are

I think AMD was partly relying on the simple fact that they do not own enough market share to have "similar" shortages as Nvidia had. If you have 90% less market share than your competitor, you only need 10% of the product your competitor had at release date, for similar outcomes.

PC ATX Windows 10 Box Keeps Turning Off

For overheating issues, start by cleaning all the fans/vents/coolers in the system and make sure they are working properly. You can try re-applying thermal paste to the cpu. Feel the air coming out of the case...does it feel very warm? If it stays on for a few minutes or more, try to download...
