The architecture is DDR4 so it will only work in a DDR4 motherboard. 2133MHz is its speed.

What PSU do you have? I'd also verify there are no leaky capacitors on the motherboard.

It's highly recommended you reinstall and take all precautions before doing so (data backup). If the ATX board is the same brand, socket, and chipset, you might get away without reinstalling, but I would just bite the bullet and call it a full backup and reinstall.

I would check your video driver settings. Be sure you're allowing the application to override any settings. It sounds like maybe the games/programs are taking advice from Windows on how to display the video as opposed to the settings within the program. Just my thoughts.
