AMD Radeon VII 16GB Review: A Surprise Attack on GeForce RTX 2080

What impressed me was the 99th percentile figures.

Intel Stands Behind Controversial Tests That Favored Its CPU Over AMD's

I suppose the main objective was to justify the price of the 9900k. Of course it will be faster. The question is whether it makes sense to pay so much for it compared to much more affordable competition. Even from their own processors. That's what matters to Intel lol In any case I believe that...

Oculus Quest Hands-On: Freedom to Explore VR

Very impressive. Although I still feel that they should split the headset from the computational device. The headset should be as comfortable as possible. There are parts of the human body much better suited to carrying weight, and discomfort, than the human head. As small comfortable backpack...

Nvidia Presents Adaptive Temporal Anti-Aliasing Technology

I actually prefer to just leave anti-aliasing off. It satisfies the pixel art junkie in me a tad while I can still appreciate the 3D rendering tech. On a high res screen there's not much to complain about. The fogginess of AA feels a bit like being near sighted to me.

AMD Responds To Nvidia GPP Controversy

Nothing new here. It's practically the force in G-Force. The G might stand for Graphics. Might stand for Gamer. Might stand for Garden. My money is on the latter. They are always trying to force you into their walled garden. That's why they have so much money. It's hard to get back out from...

Shortages Plague Intel's Coffee Lake Launch

From what I can see from looking at combined scores the 7700 is still an extremely compelling CPU purchase even now. the 8700 is a little bit more powerful, a little bit more expensive. I dunno.. Maybe I looked at the wrong benchmarks, but we miss you Moore's Law. It was fun while it lasted.

Cloudflare Removes Neo-Nazi Site From DDoS Mitigation Service

Freedom of speech is not without consequences. Nobody was arrested so no wrong was done. It's not much different from an employee being fired for posting hate speech on social media. Individuals and companies have the right to choose who they want to associate with. They are being crybabies...

AMD Radeon RX Vega 64: Bundles, Specs, And Aug. 14 Availability

I get the idea behind the packs, but I fear support for the "freebies" will be limited in my country. Oh well...

Qualcomm Seeks To Halt US Import, Sales Of Apple iPhone

Well... Apple started it. If they want to sell stuff with other's people's patents in them then they should pay the royalties like everybody else. Let's recap some of Apple's litigation victories... Awarded $1Bn vs Samsung for patents on “bounce back” scrolling, pinch and zoom navigation and...

Samsung Gear VR's Motion Controller, Hands On

I should add that with the gear VR headset it should be simple for Samsung to sell a standalone screen to substitute for one of their phones for customers who want to make use of the power of their PCs. Using the Gear as a selling point for their phones might work to some extent, but I am...

Samsung Gear VR's Motion Controller, Hands On

I have one, but the batteries which were included lasted about 30s. So I have not gotten around to buying new ones yet. Mostly because I really just do not want to be tied into the Oculus ecosystem. And believe me I tried to use the Gear with SteamVR with no luck. So yeah I really wish samsung...

All About Ethereum, The New Cryptocurrency King

All crypto currencies will ultimately share a single 'pool' of demand. So with the rise of eth bc will probably take a hit and when many more crypto currencies come into play both eth and bc will have their returns moderated. Of course the general usefulness also plays a role, but that just...
