Memory timings for a new build...

I've done some more reading... Could someone at least confirm... based on the fact that ram should automatically down clock to the best native speed available... the ram I mentioned above would automatically get set at 1866mhz, without me needing to change any settings in bios, or any sort of...

Opinion wanted on best upgrade path for my system...

Update to this... How about I swap out my GA-78LMT-USB3 for a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P? That still won't allow the new ram to run at 2400, but then... if I've read correctly, the fx6300 dram controller will only alllow up to 1866 anyway... is that right? If so, then that new mobo with an upgrade...

Opinion wanted on best upgrade path for my system...

Hmmm... I'm not really planning on upgrading both cpu and gpu any time soon. That would be a much larger outlay than the cost of upgrading the ram. Bearing in mind, I should be able to recover at least 25% of the expenditure on the ram upgrade, by selling my old ram, that means I'd be doubling...

Opinion wanted on best upgrade path for my system...

Hi, Just looking for some feedback on best way to upgrade my system. I started with an Acer M3400 out of the box, with a Phenom II x6 1035t and 4gb of ram. My first upgrade was ditching the graphics card that the system came with and getting a modest upgrade of a Radeon HD 7800, and I added...

Acer Aspire M3400 X6... 3 pin system fan socket?

Didn't get round to having another look inside this PC until today, and... immediately had one of those face-palm moments... of course I couldn't see a spare 3 pin socket on the board... because the rear fan was already plugged into it. Doh! So... ordered a cable adapter so I can daisy chain...

Acer Aspire M3400 X6... 3 pin system fan socket?

OK... will check again in the morning. I also saw what looked like a 3 pin connector in that spot in the manual, but... couldn't see it on the actual board. Maybe I'm just not looking closely enough... it's been a long week. Will let you know if I find it. Thanks.

Acer Aspire M3400 X6... 3 pin system fan socket?

Hi, I've just upgraded my M3400 X6, with a new graphics card and PSU. I decided to add an extra fan on the side panel, not so much out of necessity than simply thinking a bit of extra airflow can't hurt with the new upgrades. Now... I've ended up connecting the fan via the molex connection it...
