FYI, check out the budget cards from AMD and NVIDIA. Even the lowest end GPU is better than iGPU...

I'm not sure that's even possible... maybe with a solder iron. I wouldn't risk it myself, but I am very paranoid of my baby. I would remove and/or replace the stick completely. Also, is the contact stuck in the memory slot?

Get yourself a good disk utility. There are lots of free utilities available on the net. MacriumReflect is a good one. If the drive is still good, you'll be able to clone it and boot off the new drive.
