I have an AMD 6870 HD GPU and can't seem to get a clear native resolution on my new 27 inch BENQ. Does my GPU support that resolution?

I have upgraded from a 24" to a 27" monitor and windows looks fuzzy/distorted at the monitors native resolution (2560x1440). I have looked around on forums and cannot find anything that works. I don't know whether it is the cable or my GPU or what. BenQ GW2765HT, AMD HD 6800 and windows 10...
