Question Dell T3610 Video card suggestions please.

The height is 4.8 inches and the height is the concern with the Dell workstation not the length. There are three fan Gigabyte designs that are under 4.6inches, RTX 2060 1660 etc. I think one should do fine. Cheerio John

Question Dell T3610 Video card suggestions please.

The ASUS GTX 1050 TI fits, card dimensions are 8.00" x 4.50". There seems to be plenty of room length wise and I suspect one of the cards that is less than 4.6 inches tall would certainly fit. Cheerio John

Question Dell T3610 Video card suggestions please.

The length is the easy one. On a previous Dell tower case I had problems with the height of an ASUS GTX1050 TI and the height is more difficult to measure and I haven't been able to find the max height is the specs. Thanks John

Question Dell T3610 Video card suggestions please.

It has the 625 watt power supply and I'm looking for something nVidia of about the power of a GTX 980 or better. My concern is the size of the video card that might fit. Thoughts please. Thanks John

    networking in win 10

Both machines are set private and discoverable. One machine shows computers, media devices and multifunction devices. The other machine only shows media devices. One is win 10 home and the other is win 10 pro. Both machines can be accessed with the CMD commands such as dir \\network\share...

    upgrading a Dell T3600 / 3610 with GTX 1070?

It is described as a tower case, but it sounds like a plan B is required. I suspect a GTX 1070 is fairly long, my current GTX 980 needed a new case although the dell web site suggests that it will take an 11 inch card the AMD W9000 with a max draw of 300 watts for the video card...

Has anyone done it? I note Dell has some refurbished tower T3600 / T3610s floating around. How many drives will the case hold? Thanks John

looking for ideas for using email on low bandwidth at off peak times

I have a background in IT and email strangely enough and yes one of the main problems will be procedures. However the machines can be preconfigured so that side won't be a problem and in one of my previous jobs I supported machines in the arctic so I am sensitive to the problems of remote access...

looking for ideas for using email on low bandwidth at off peak times

I do a fair bit of mapping with openstreetmap HOT to be more precise. NGOs such as MSF, Red Cross etc send field teams in so often from US and Europe who are used to email. There are a number of schools and internet cafes floating around and as we map often we want to send the latest version...

    > You could use one of the many free parental control software available. I think that may well be a simple answer. Thanks John

looking for ideas for using email on low bandwidth at off peak times

I'd wondered if the alarm could be launch a program rather than play a tune. The windows solution looks good but ideally you'd want it to run twice then not connect. I wonder if we can say only use the internet connection between these hours somehow? Certainly approaches to think about...
