For anyone from the future wondering, I got a second 8GB stick from Amazon for a pretty low price and CPU-Z says it's dual. Make sure the frequency matches your first stick, though.

So the main power connector wasn't connected securely. Don't know if it's the motherboard's fault, or the power supply's, since it still feels like it's not very secure. Thanks all for the helpful answers :)
