My motherboard nor does my graphics card has vga ports.

I got a hdmi cable and I'm trying to hook the cable in my recently built computer. However, it says "no cable connected" even though I plugged in all the cables for the BenQ Monitor. I need help. I changed it to hdmi setting but no success.

My gtx 970 has a dvi port. My BenQ monitor comes with a dvi cable. I put the cable in the 970, but there is no signal. Even if I change the settings in the monitor. I don't have dvi ports in my motherboard except the gpu. There is a couple of hdmi ports though
